CNBC — Clowns, Nothing But Clowns

Big Red Car here on a nice sunny ATX day with a bit of a chill in the air. 52F but headed to 80F this afternoon. Ahh, on Earth as it is in the ATX.

So, did you watch the beclowning of the Republican debate last night?

It is difficult to imagine that anyone could have done a more ham handed, amateurish, biased, transparent mash up of what CNBC did last night. Continue reading

Hillary by a TKO — No, It Was a KO

Big Red Car here on a rainy Saturday morning. Ahhh, we are going to get the big Mexican hurricane shortly and we are going to get a lot of rain.

So Thursday saw Hillary Clinton’s tour-de-force before the House Benghazi committee.

She wrestled them to the ground and made them eat shit. Figuratively speaking, or course.

Who actually ate shit? The American people but who cares about them anyway? Continue reading

The Trumping of the Republican Establishment

Big Red Car here on a delightful Wednesday afternoon in the ATX. Just a tad warmer than 80F but a bit humid. Ahhh, it’s still very nice.

Not very nice? The Republican Establishment — those chaps who spend all their time fleecing widows, shanghaiing orphans, picking on the ethnicities, and berating the “special” folk.

They don’t like The Donald.

Who cares why? They just don’t like him. They DO like Jeb Bush but therein lies the problem; the electorate is already committed — at about the 90% rate — to “anybody but Bush.” Continue reading

Beware Success!

Big Red Car here. Ahhh, a crisp, cool, sunny morning with the sun just peeking over the trees over toward the University of Texas. [I am parked west of the campus on the other side of Shoal Creek.]

Today, the subject is the issue of success.

There is nothing that threatens success like success. <<< Read that again. Say it again. Hmmm.

Listen, dear reader, while the Big Red Car tells you about what can go wrong with success. It is a subtle but very dangerous thing, y’all. Continue reading

Syria — Putin’s Coming Out Party Part Two

Big Red Car here on a glorious Friday — sunny, clear, crisp but going to warm up this afternoon just the way we like it in the ATX.

So, Vlad the Pute is turning the Russian military loose in Syria to strut its stuff. Keep your eye on this development as it will be a huge change in the future of the Middle East. No conjecture here — this will be huge. Count on it.

The Russian military has historically been held in very low esteem by professional observers. It was once a brute force that overwhelmed its enemies (most famously in World War II) with sheer numbers and material rather than expertise, strategy, and tactics. It was always thought of as being a little technologically backward particularly when compared with the Americans and NATO. Continue reading

Democratic Party Changes Name — Scoop

Big Red Car here in a lovely ATX day — going to be in the mid-90s today. Low of 60F and high of, say, 95F. That is the kind of fall we like in Texas.

So, the Big Red Car was able to score an interview with Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Chairwoman of the Democratic Party. It was the morning after the debates and Miss Schultz was in rare form.

And, dear readers, we have a scoop. First on the planet to announce the new name of the Democratic Party. Read on, y’all. Continue reading

Leonard C Minch, 97, Rest in Peace

Being born the son of Leonard C Minch (CSM, USA-Ret) has been the luckiest happenstance of my life. He was and is, simply, the best man I have ever met or known. His moral compass was welded at true north and his example of how to live, and die, was exceptional. He confronted life face to face, he mastered it, and he died on his own terms.

Last Thursday, at 6:20 AM, he drew his last breath. I am devastated and completely defeated for the first time in my life. I write these words between tears for my loss. I am very selfish that way. He would laugh at me and say, “I was 97” as if that would explain it all.
