Board Duties — Handle With Care II

Big Red Car here.  Wow, we had a very nice rain last night replete with lightning, thunder and wind.  Ahhh, it was the best.  We desperately need water to fill the area lakes.  The lakes have been down a bit since 2011 but they are building back with the recent rains.  In the last month, water levels are up almost four feet.

Occam’s Razor — A Rule For Simpletons

Big Red Car here.  The Boss was up very early this morning and out to the lakehouse and back almost before dawn.  He’s been a busy beaver these days.

He was meeting with someone who was trying to explain something to him that he believed was very simple.  The Boss likes simple.  In fact, he often says that he IS a simpleton meaning thereby that he likes simple things.

Big Red Car here.  Hey, rain in the ATX and a huge lightning delay in the Longhorns v Texas Christian University.  Longhorns v Christians?  Final score after the long lightning delay: 30-7.

Horns prevail over Horned Frogs, well, Christian horned frogs, no?

Troy H Middleton, Citizen Soldier

Big Red Car here.  Well, you know what I’m going to say — right?  On Earth as it is in Austin, Texas, ya’ll, cause it’s just about perfect here in the ATX.

So The Boss is finishing up reading about his tenth book on the Battle of the Bulge in World War II.  He gets fixated on something in his reading — last time it was the masonry design of Irish castles, haha — and he just reads and studies it in depth and extracts the learnings like he was squeezing an orange to make orangeade.

You do love orangeade, right?  Bit of simple syrup, bit of peel, bit of something fizzy and fresh squeezed oranges.  Fresh, Old Sport, fresh.

Read carefully, friends, this will all circle back to entrepreneurial decision making but you’re going to have to stay on the horse for the entire journey.
