Nice weather in the ATX and I am thinking I might just get a chance to hit the road today.

The Boss has already taken my top down but that may be just to dry me out a bit.  We shall see.  Cold here.

George Washington — the ultimate crisis leader

Big Red Car here.  Nice sunny day, cold, here in the ATX.

The Boss was up before dawn and had his breakfast and was hard at work on a new deal he is working on.  An exciting new startup business.  Which brought me to the notion of leadership and, in particular, leadership in a crisis

I have often heard The Boss speak of his admiration for George Washington and his leadership — crisis leadership — in the Battle of Trenton. Continue reading

Big Red Rules

Big Red Car here.  The Boss is out drinking coffee early this morning.  He loves the 7:00 AM meeting at Austin Java.  He gets a 3-shot cappuccino and is wired for the rest of the morning.

Me, you ask, I am in the driveway with my top up because it is cloudy and a bit rainy.  Rats.  But you have to follow the rules.  Speaking of rules, I have some of my own that I call the Big Red Rules.

Pitching, Hard Fast and Tight

So I finally got to run a bit yesterday because the sun was out though it was a bit crisp all day.  This morning I got to get up very early and go for coffee at Austin Java on Windsor.

The Boss was meeting a young video entrepreneur and he agreed to do a deal with him.  I like the idea of The Boss getting back into the deal business.  This one will be fun.

We have a fundamental cash flow problem, not a political problem

Big Red Car here.  Still drying out from the rains last night and today.  We need the rain so I can’t complain.  Who would listen anyway?

So I’m talking to a cute little Mercedes Benz convertible (top buttoned up, mind you).  She lives with an accountant and we get talking about the cash flows of our country.  Not politics, mind you, just how much is coming in and how much is going out and how much we are borrowing.
