Big Red Car here. So we have another question and it makes sense. Question No. 2 was all about taking off in a Bonanza and now that you know how to take off, you damn sure will have to know how to land. Makes sense, right?
Big Red Car here. So The Boss was discussing unemployment with a friend enroute to getting a burger at MightyFine. If you have not been there, then you owe it to yourself to go introduce yourself. Great burgers, great crinkle cut fries and fabulous lemonade. Right up the road in North Austin.
Big Red Car here. So, The Boss is a pilot and has a number of pilot friends. One young friend, at The Boss’s urging, is taking flying lessons and is flying a Cessna 172.
A C-172 is the most popular training aircraft ever made. It is reportedly a great plane to learn to fly on and the young student pilot is just about ready to take his flying test.
So, he is thinking about what planes he might like to investigate after he gets his license.
Big Red Car here. Wet, cold day here in the ATX — not convertible weather. Frankly, I am getting a bit vexed. I am a bit uncomfortable and want to get out and run a bit.
Which brings me to the issue of comfort food and — will wonders never cease — National Spaghetti and Meatballs Day.
Big Red Car here. Been out for a quick cruise to get some coffee this morning and stumbled upon a truly awe inspiring picture and wanted to share it with you.

One thing about fires, they can be a bit dangerous. Particularly gas fires which use an artificial log.
Big Red Car here. The Boss is back in town and he is back to business full steam ahead. It is nice to see him so busy as he has been at the beach, in the mountains on the East coast and skiing for Christmas. The last three months, he has been out of town a lot.
Now, he is back and I just might get a chance to blow out the cobwebs myself today if the rain holds off a bit.
This resurgence of activity got me thinking about the value and power of experience.
Big Red Car here. Raining in Austin and I don’t like that because I feel like a New Years Day run out to and through the Hill Country is something I need. Something I want.
