Once upon a time the world, our enemies in particular, feared American power whilst our friends and allies revered it.
It was bad to be an enemy of America.
It was good to be a friend of America.
After the Normandy landing in World War II, it took America and her allies ten months to bring the German war machine of Adolf Hitler to an end and to accept their unconditional surrender. Ten months from the landing until victory.
I do not intend to discuss or critique the recent events in Afghanistan other than to say that it is clearly not the highpoint of America’s foreign policy which at this instant is entrusted to our current POTUS.
The most pathetic image of an American President ever seen? Does this project power? Reliability? Confidence?
When the current POTUS was running for the job, we were assured that one of the mitigating factors of his half a century in the swamp was that he was an old and steady hand when it came to foreign policy — hmmm, maybe not so much, eh?
A single discordant voice was former Sec Def/Dir CIA Gates who opined that Joe Biden had been on the wrong side of every major foreign policy issue for the last four decades.
Today, President Biden takes great pride in the killing of Osama Bin Laden, a mission he opposed at the time.
In life we get paid in cash, ego enrichment, and self-esteem nourishment.
There are certain things that only a founder can experience or appreciate in the ego enrichment and self-esteem nourishment arena.
Here is a list:
1. Only a founder gets the thrill of finalizing — owning — an idea that is either an aspirin (removes some of the pain of living) or a vitamin (improves the quality of life) — or both.
2. Only a founder gets the final say on the name of the company. Jeff Bezos and his wife picked the name “Amazon.”
Same thing on the logo. You do this. You get the thrill.

I am tired of hearing all the criticism of America. Not suggesting some of it isn’t well-deserved, but just tired of hearing it without any offsetting praise.
So, today I rise to defend and praise the Statue of Liberty Lady and our great country. We are the best hope for mankind though we may have a bit of maintenance to undertake.

As you may be aware, the Republican controlled State Senate in Arizona ordered — after much machinations and some very odd conflict with the Republican controlled Maricopa County Board of Supervisors — a “forensic” audit of the recent state election limited to Maricopa County (Phoenix).
Nobody knew exactly what was meant by a forensic audit, but now things are coming into focus.
We are told by the Federal Reserve in the person of its Chairman Jerome Powell that we are experiencing inflation, but that it will be “transitory.”
“Do not fret, dear, this inflation is transitory and you will be fine,” sayeth Jerome P during recent Congressional testimony. He then adjusts his glasses and gives you a grandfatherly look of confidence. But, should you feel good or is it all a head fake?
[Much of Christianity is built upon the notion that death is also transitory and that we shall live again in splendor with God in Heaven, but still we are dead. This is the story of inflation also?]
Our President and Secretary of State announced they have invited the United Nations Council of Human Rights to investigate the status of racism, the racial landscape of our country. [Imagine the drums, the ruffles and flourishes, the lightning in the background, and the sanctimonious smiles.]
My first reaction was, “Hmmm, seems a little odd. Who are these folks? Who serves on the UN Human Rights Council? What can they contribute?”
