The Obama 3.0 Biden Foreign Policy

I am an issues/outcomes equal opportunity critic. I care not a whit about the politics of the issue or the sponsors.

This is why I liked the First Step Act (lauded by Senators Kamala Harris, Booker, Warren, and fellow travelers) and the the Canadian Softwoods Lumber Tariff.

The FSA was good policy supported by a bi-partisan gang of legislators who all took credit for it.

Comes now the first inklings of the Biden foreign policy team — Obama retreads all. For God’s sake, y’all, he gave John Kerry the international climate change portfolio.

Holy shit, Joe, you’re in charge. Wow! I’m 76 and you’re 78 and we’re the New Idea Guys. WTF?

President-elect Joe Biden, Please Forgive My Student Loan?

One of the policy planks of the Biden campaign was the shiny penny (Bitcoin) lure of a Biden presidency forgiving student loans in their entirety or forgiving $10,000 of the outstanding student loan debt.

Since more than half of all student debt is to persons 24-34, this campaign promise was targeted on the young voter.

In other cultures, this might be called: “Buying Votes,” but not in America where we intend to “Build Back Better.”

Exclusive Interview With Joe Biden On Healing

Minding my own business and I get a phone call.

“This the Big Red Car?” the voice asks. Sort of gravelly like he was speaking through a mask or had just gotten up from a nap.

“Yes, sir. With whom do I have the pleasure of speaking?” I ask.

“This is Joe, a scrappy kid from Scranton, Pennsylvania. Joe Biden, President-elect of the United States of America. Want to talk to you, Big Red Car. Give you the benefit of my views on healing. You listening?”

“Well, sir, I am all ears. What shall we talk about?” I was admittedly a little anxious not knowing why he would have called me.

Killing The Gig Economy

A lot of trends, suspect ideas, cultural quirks, and bad laws start in California and spread across the country.

Case in point is California Assembly Bill 5 which destroys the gig economy by imposing standards on the employer-employee relationship that prevent the gig economy from functioning in a manner as it currently does.

Lyft and Uber have both threatened to pull out of California if the law is not repealed in November.

Joe Biden supports California Assembly Bill 5 which effectively kills the gig economy and wants to pass a Federal law mirroring it. If you are a gig worker, take note.

Cal AB 5 came to life in December 2018 in response to controversy created by the employment of Lyft and Uber drivers, classic gig economy workers. These contract, independent contractor, 1099, gig workers are eliminated under the law that was passed in September 2019 and took effect in January 2020.

Joe Biden, Democrat Nominee

Joe Biden will be the Democrat nominee for President. Tonight, he won a convincing victory even in some states in which he had next to no presence.

On the other hand, the zaniness of the Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Disney World lineup came to an end with Bernie Sanders being judged, finally, to be too far to the left.

I say this with the complete support of the numbers, the numbers, the numbers — Joe Biden had a bigger victory than Hillary Clinton did against Bernie. Joe won by more than 10% greater margins. This is no tiptoe through the tulips; this was a cage match and Joe Biden won it all. Bernie is still at the Emergency Room having his ears re-attached.

Mike Bloomberg Is Out — Exclusive Interview

So, I get a call from the Bloomberg campaign saying that Mike wants to sit down and chat about the campaign as he is “reassessing” things post-Super Tuesday.

We visit in Austin, Texas (also known as Tejas) when he flies in on one of his Dassault Falcon 900s — he owns three of them.

“So, Mike, should we start with the planes? You own how many planes?”
