Waffle House Wisdom

There is a brand of wisdom that is only found early in the morning at Waffle House. It’s called Waffle House Wisdom. If you don’t recognize that name it is because you may never have eaten at a Waffle House or you are a thin skinned Tesla liberal (the heir apparent to the limousine liberal in the Internet Age) or you are just stupid.

Iran — No Deal, Taqiyya

Big Red Car here on a serious note — the probability of making a workable deal with Iran to eliminate their relentless march to a nuclear bomb is zero.

The Obama administration is apoplectic about this fool’s errand and has now denuded themselves before the Iranians giving evidence of willingness to make any deal, literally, any deal to prevent themselves from being exposed as the boobs they are. Social Media and the Internet Go To War

Big Red Car here. Another beauty in the ATX. Ahhh, thank you, God!

So, The Boss was chatting with one of his trade school buddies. “Trade school” is what you call VMI, West Point, Air Force Academy, Annapolis, Citadel and other military schools. It is an inside joke amongst trade school grads.

They get on the subject of asymmetrical warfare — fancy word for terrorism and the whole Middle East mess. Lump in Al Qaeda, ISIL, Boko Horam and the flavor of the day shitheads.

Everyone Writes — Read This Book

Big Red Car here. It is convertible weather in the ATX. The azaleas will be here in a month. It is feeling like spring.

So The Boss is a reader like nobody you’ve ever seen. The guy has a business book, a history, a trashy beach book, a self improvement book, a novel cooking at all times. He has a few on deck waiting for his future consideration.

Raising Taxes, A Presidential Thing

Big Red Car here in the ATX which is enjoying some convertible weather. I am headed out to the Hill Country this afternoon and why not?

Folks up north, please don’t hate me — the azaleas will be blooming in about five weeks here in Texas. Always coincides with Spring Break.

So The Boss has been digging into the issue of taxes. Taxes are an important consideration for those in the startup business as they hope to ultimately monetize their work and investment. In the course of doing this they will likely be subject to capital gains. Not a bad thing. Continue reading →
