America’s Military Crisis — We Will LOSE Our Next War

The United States Army is the smallest it has been since 1940, the year before the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and sunk the majority of  the American fleet in an act of perfidy that launched the US and the world into a global war that killed millions and changed the course of civilization.

[Frame of reference: US 1940 population 132,000,000; currently 340,000,000.]

The American fleet was considered the most potent American military arm and the only one that could project force over the horizon into the Pacific, so the Japs plotted to take it out and did.

Weakness attracts aggression.

Words That Need To Be Said — Ukraine No Fly Zone

I had a dream. In it, President Biden was younger, more with it, leaned forward in his saddle, and spoke with conviction.


Our Pentagon was led by men who did not spend their time on white rage and funding transgender sex change operations. They knew their job was to project lethality, to win wars, and to vanquish evil.

We were again the America of George Washington, George Marshall, and we were the beacon of hope, the Arsenal of Democracy, the last, best hope of mankind, and we were the decent people who we are and we stood for and defended freedom wherever it took root. We were prudent, but unafraid because we knew our cause was just and right.

On the Brink of War — Ukraine

The same morons who masterminded the disastrous withdrawal of US personnel and forces from Afghanistan after the US trained and equipped 350,000 man Afghan National Army was routed by 30,000 Taliban are getting ready to involve the United States in another tinderbox potential shooting war situation.

The Test – Russia, China, Iran – Go To War?

Every new administration must find its footing with our adversaries. Amongst those adversaries today are China, Russia, and Iran.

Our new administration is struggling to find its own bearings at the same time. This is not only normal, but it is also confusing because the positions of the new admin are radically different versus its predecessor.

This normal transition, the unusually aggressive posture of China, Russia, and Iran taken together with the internal policy confusion makes for a fine kettle of fish.

China and Iran have just cozied up to each other with a 25-year alliance.

Afghanistan — Peace? Not A Chance In Hell

You may have noticed that the United States signed a “treaty” with the Taliban pertinent to Afghanistan that will lead to the end of hostilities between the US and the Taliban.

The Taliban negotiating team including one man who was a Gitmo detainee who we released. These guys outsmarted our generals and out waited our Presidents.

The US has been at war with the the Taliban for 18 years making this the longest war in US history.

The American Civil War II Now Underway

We are at war, the Second American Civil War. It will not be a shooting war, but it will be decisive; there will be a single winner; it will be intellectually bloody; and the loser will continue the war as an asymmetrical guerrilla war thereafter.

This asymmetrical warfare may continue forever. The winner will hunt down the losers and eliminate them. The winner will bayonet the wounded. The losers will go deep underground.

I have been mulling this subject for more than a year, but I am driven to write about it in the shadow of impeachment, during the Democratic primary, and on the eve of the November election. I build my argument on this three legged stool.

Poking The Iranian Bear

Good friend of mine sends me an email, says, “Hey, amigo, you know all that military crap. Are we going to get slapped around by Iran? Poke the sleeping bear meme real? Are all the baristas at Starbucks going to get drafted?”

I laughed, called him, and said, “Where do you get this crap? Let me lay some facts on you.”

If the Iranians decide to retaliate for the US’s hit on Soleimani, the confrontation will likely degenerate into an air campaign from the American side.

Why? We don’t want to put ground troops into Iran. Make sense?

Russian MiG 29 multirole (fighter/bomber) aircraft — 20

Russian Su-17/20/22 attack aircraft — 10

Russian Su-24 attack aircraft — 23

US F-4 Phantom II fighter bomber aircraft — 63 (16 unarmed, recon only)

US F-5E fighter aircraft — 20 (includes some reverse engineered derivatives)

US F-14A/AM Tomcat fighter interceptor aircraft — 26

French Mirage F1 fighter aircraft — 9 (from Iraq when fleeing Desert Storm)

Iranian HESA Kowsar fighter aircraft — 7 (good avionics based on F-5 airframe)

Chinese F-7 fighter aircraft — 17 (built by Iran under license from China based on MiG-21)
