The Little Things — YakTrax

Big Red Car here. Been holding down the fort in the ATX while The Boss is playing in the snow in Steamboat Springs.

One of the most important things about being in snow country is traction cause when you lose traction you fall on your butt and break bones and when you break bones it hurts.

So what is a person to do? Continue reading

Good v Evil — Focus on the Good

Big Red Car here on a lazy Sunday morning. Up too late last night with the house sitter. Do not tell The Boss or my new paint job may be at risk.

The Boss says that what we think about, we talk about. You know where this is going, right?

What we talk about, we act upon. What we act upon defines our character and our lives are driven by our character.

The List of Horribles

Big Red Car here on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

The Wages of Incompetence — Paris

Bid Red Car here in the middling ATX with a high of 73F but cloudy. The Boss, meanwhile, is in the sunny and cool NYC feeding off the fat of the land. If the weather cooperates, me and the housesitter are headed out for a little drive through the Hill Country. Do not tell The Boss.

So, the blood from the horrific murders in Paris is not yet dry and already the world has begun to adjust and accept the outcomes.

The talk shows were alive with . . . . . nothing. The new norm — we do nothing and simply move beyond the horror as long as it doesn’t touch us directly. Continue reading

Beware Success!

Big Red Car here. Ahhh, a crisp, cool, sunny morning with the sun just peeking over the trees over toward the University of Texas. [I am parked west of the campus on the other side of Shoal Creek.]

Today, the subject is the issue of success.

There is nothing that threatens success like success. <<< Read that again. Say it again. Hmmm.

Listen, dear reader, while the Big Red Car tells you about what can go wrong with success. It is a subtle but very dangerous thing, y’all. Continue reading
