Big Red Car here. Hey, ya’ll, it’s as cold as a witch’s titty in a brass bra here in the ATX. The 30’s are doing battle with the 40’s and there is some chatter about it getting to 60F today. Brrrr!

So you probably watched a bit of college football yesterday, no? The Boss loves college football and is often mumbling that college football is very much like the startup business. [I think he’s just trying to justify how damn much college football he’s been watching lately. Bowl games, yeah!]
Big Red Car here. Ahhhhh, alive at dawn — the strategy for New Years Eve revelers that is the most important. Happy to report that all the cubs are home in their beds and alive at dawn. Low hurdles to be sure but pretty damn important nonetheless.
It is a great day in the ATX already. Brilliantly sunny, not a cloud in the sky. Only 39F but supposed to get to 70F today. Going to be a bit colder for the rest of the week. We shall see.
Big Red Car here. Well, it’s cold and raw here in the ATX. Not convertible weather which gets me thinking about a different type of convertible — convertible debt.
The Boss received several questions as to when and how convertible debt would be used by a startup. This explanation will give you the basics.

So I was eavesdropping on a couple of conversations between The Boss and some of his brilliant CEO clients. They were talking about chemistry. Huh?
Big Red Car here. Well we had a great Christmas in the ATX. Wow, the Investment Banker and the Perfect Daughter are here and the parental units had been skiing in the ‘Boat and just made it back in time to get the tree decorated. Much fun and much love. Ahh, On Earth As It Is In Texas!
So The Boss has been thinking a bit about his CEO advisory and coaching business. At year end he has cataloged a number of conversations and I will be sharing them with you for a few weeks. A kind of lessons learned primer on how a CEO can effectively use coaching to her best advantage.
