Board Duties — Handle With Care II

Big Red Car here.  Wow, we had a very nice rain last night replete with lightning, thunder and wind.  Ahhh, it was the best.  We desperately need water to fill the area lakes.  The lakes have been down a bit since 2011 but they are building back with the recent rains.  In the last month, water levels are up almost four feet.

Cutting costs is not rocket science — proof

Big Red Car here.  Kind of a gray and gloomy day in the ATX but big doings nonetheless.

The President is in Dallas for the opening of the George W Bush President Museum and in Waco for the West explosion memorial.  A high point and a low point.

These big happenings sometimes obscure the elegant simplicity of handling day to day affairs — such as doing the normal and mundane things that business folks do all the time — controlling expenditures.  Cutting costs.

Gargling With Gasoline

Big Red Car here.  First, let me admit right up front, I have a drinking problem.  I drink gasoline.  Regular when I can get it.  But, yes, the Big Red Car has a gasoline drinking problem.

One of The Boss’s favorite songs is Pancho & Lefty sung by William Nelson and Merle Haggard.  Favorite line — “breath as strong as kerosene” — will catch your attention.

“Whip Out” — a technical finance term for entrepreneurs

Big Red Car here.  Wanted to go out for coffee with The Boss but he had something on his mind and made pancakes and bacon at home instead.  That always puts The Boss in a good mood but only on Saturdays.

So he took a phone call this morning and got talking about “whip out”.
