The Boss was up very early this morning and was working on a checklist he keeps to guide him through conversations he has with young budding entrepreneurs in the startup business. He uses it himself. He is a checklist guy.

Pitching, Hard Fast and Tight

So I finally got to run a bit yesterday because the sun was out though it was a bit crisp all day. This morning I got to get up very early and go for coffee at Austin Java on Windsor.
The Boss was meeting a young video entrepreneur and he agreed to do a deal with him. I like the idea of The Boss getting back into the deal business. This one will be fun.

The Power of Experience — Your Generation Did NOT Invent Sex
Big Red Car here. The Boss is back in town and he is back to business full steam ahead. It is nice to see him so busy as he has been at the beach, in the mountains on the East coast and skiing for Christmas. The last three months, he has been out of town a lot.
Now, he is back and I just might get a chance to blow out the cobwebs myself today if the rain holds off a bit.
This resurgence of activity got me thinking about the value and power of experience.

So The Boss is having a nice bourbon and gingerale with a pal of his and they get to talking about Boards of Directors. In particular, about Boards of startups or small private companies or small public companies. So, if you are on the Board of Exxon Mobil this is not for you but you can read it anyway and you will see the similarities.
The Boss has served on lots of Boards and is constantly being asked to serve on more. He likes serving on Boards as does his pal.

So I was listening in on The Boss’s recent meeting with a lawyer over lunch the other day. Nice salad at the new Austin Java on Windsor in west Austin.
