Moving to the Sound of the Guns, What Marines Do!

Big Red Car here. Another lovely, cool morning in the ATX. Ahhh, on Earth as it is in Texas!

The tragedy in Chattanooga wherein another crazy Muslim person killed some innocent victims has spawned a lively discussion as to what to do.

In case you have been living in a cave, the story  goes like this: Muslim crazy person, who wants to become a martyr, gets his wish while killing five — four Marines and a sailor. Continue reading

In Praise of Skepticism

Big Red Car here. It rained yesterday in the tropical rain forest formerly known at Austin, Texas.

We are starting to like the daily rains. Everything is green. It is like the Amazon valley.

I am skeptical as to whether it will continue, which brings me to my thought for today — skepticism. Continue reading

Harnessing Emotions — Leadership

Big Red Car here in the tropical rain forest known as Austin by God Texas.

It’s been raining a little here. Not that we don’t need it; we do. If we did not have such an arid climate, we would not be complaining but we are not really used to this much rain; so we complain.

Shame on us.

In life, we are propelled ever forward by our emotions — driven by the slings, arrows, slights, insults that are visited upon us and which tempt us to anger. Anger can be very destructive. How are you harnessing emotions?

The D Theory of Life

Big Red Car here. Wow, it is unbelievable here in the ATX — weather, scent of spring (except for the killer pollen), and the flowers. The azaleas are spectacular.

So The Boss has a theory about life. It is a protective theory. Read about it here. The D theory of life.

Happy Easter to all! Continue reading

The Physics of Failure

Big Red Car here. Wow, is the weather in the ATX spectacular!

We’ve got the start of 300,000 folks in town for SXSW (South By Southwest) and the weather is for you visitors. Move here, please.

Get some TexMex at Guero’s Matt’s El Rancho, Chuy’s, Santa Rita and get some BBQ at Green Mesquite. Don’t even think about Franklin BBQ. You’re not locals, y’all. Painful truth. But, you could be by this time next year.

Pro tip: Never, ever try the salsa until your drinks come. You will remember this when your mouth is on fire. This is Texas.
