Big Red Car here. Sometimes things are so silly you just have to pinch yourself to make sure that what you think you have heard is exactly what you heard.
Today, the White House schedule former Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice — now the President’s National Security Adviser — to brief Congress on what is happening in Syria. Huh?
Big Red Car here. The Big Red Car is against the use of chemical weapons in any and all forms. There, I said it. It is repugnant.
But the entire subject got me thinking about it all and I did a bit of research — don’t tell The Boss because I was supposed to be working on my tan, haha — and I learned some interesting things. The Big Red Car has always been a damn good sharer, so here goes, Old Sport.
Big Red Car here. The Boss is home for a few days and is catching up with some long standing stuff, so he was up early this morning and met with a couple of his CEO types. They got to talking about who had been where this summer.
Big Red Car here. Lovely day in the ATX, hot, sunny and wholesome. OK, maybe not wholesome but I was running out of superlatives. So what?
If you’re talking about Diana Nyad and her 110 mile swim from Cuba to Florida, you are talking superlatives, my friend.
Big Red Car here. So The Boss is still in the Carolinas helping the Cub move to his new digs in Charlotte. The Queen City is a great city and is one of those great American cities that are emerging as regional centers of growth, culture and commerce. The Boss is very high on Charlotte.
Big Red Car here. Nice hot day here in the ATX. What a day.
The Boss is still out of town and I am left again with the house sitter — who runs the Big Red Car hard and fast. And the Big Red Car loves being run hard and fast, ya’ll.
Big Red Car here and I fear I hear the tocsin of war in the future for the United States. Worse still, I fear the US enters the Syrian conflict having lost the advantages of tactical surprise.

The movie is the “true” life story of a black butler — Cecil Gaines in the movie and Gene Allen in the real world — in the White House who served Presidents from Harry Truman to Ronald Reagan. It is a racial road map of America and how its views on race evolved over a protracted period of time with a lens held up to the Oval Office.
It stars an interesting cast including Forrest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, Jane Fonda, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding, Jr, Robin Williams and the BRC’s personal favorite — Minka Kelly.
