#DefundStupid — Hunting Billionaires

Pal sends me an article wherein it is revealed that the irrepressible AOC — Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, not the Admiral Overseas Corporation — is encouraging a billionaire hunt to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (Fredo’s older brother).

AOC, member in good standing of the Democratic Socialists of America and The Squad, a virulent progressive in her own right, author and sponsor of the Green New Deal, key adviser to Candidate Joe Biden, wants to tax New York State billionaires — of which there are apparently one hundred and eighteen.

Nancy Pelosi’s Side — Let Them Eat Ice Cream

I’m considering things great and small when my phone rings. I do not recognize the number, but the ring itself feels like a political survey, so I answer.

“Stand by for the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi,” the voice says. It sounds eerily like the Emperor in Star Wars. So, I wait. I wait. I wait.

“Big Red Car, how are you, dear?” the Speaker asks.

“Fine, Madame Speaker, et vous?”

Cut The Crap — Payroll Protection Program Is Out Of Money

One of the elements of the CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act), the bi-partisan stimulus program in response to COVID19, was the $250B Payroll Protection Plan.

The CARES Act was passed unanimously by both the Senate and the House on a unanimous consent. Wow!

The PPP was a good deal based on its popularity, a popularity that has drained its coffers. The PPP is broke. Out of money. The need was enormous.

The PPP has deployed $350,000,000,000 and has thousands of more applications, but it is out of money.

The Congress has known this for almost two weeks now.

The Senate Republicans saw this — the exhaustion of funds for PPP — coming and more than a week ago they proposed a single change to the CARES Act — change the single number $350,000,000,000 to $600,000,000,000.

That’s it. Just that. Nothing more. One single change. Two numbers, nothing else. Simple, right?

Lives In The Balance — Damn You, Nancy Pelosi

Today, the United States Congress House of Representatives returned from recess during which the US Senate stayed in town to do the people’s business.

In their absence, the US Senate proposed, negotiated, and passed a relief bill to address the WutangCurse pandemic. There was plenty of perfidy on the part of Democrats to try to stuff that bill full of liberal pork and waste time that the nation simply does not have.

In spite of this hard work, joinder by her Dem colleagues in the Senate, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi returned before her colleagues and announced that she did not “favor” the Senate bill and would be proposing a bill of her own that found life as a 1,140 page K Street embrace of every liberal wet dream imaginable including giving money — $1,000,000,000 — to Sanctuary Cities in defiance of the Trump admin’s policy and forgiving student loan debt. Things that have nothing to do with relief from the pandemic.

This pig fest then became a 1,400 page indecipherable lard trough whose contents were unlinked to the intended relief of the pain the country is enduring from the WutangCurse pandemic.

This morning, Speaker Pelosi called the House of Representatives into session at 10:00 AM.

At 10:02 AM, she adjourned the House of Representatives without taking up the Senate relief bill.

If you are sick, unemployed, about to become unemployed, a small business in free fall, a business who cannot make payroll or rent, a business teetering on the brink, an American worried about our fellow Americans, a hospital desperately seeking assistance, a medical professional praying for more supplies — then know this:

With Lives In The Balance,

Speaker Nancy Pelosi Spit In Your Face,

Laughed At Your Struggle

One is forced to ask why any politician would do what she has done. I get it that Speaker Pelosi, a fabulously wealthy person on a power trip, is a politician. I just never realized she was also a traitor to her country, our country.

Damn you, Nancy Pelosi. Damn you to Hell.

The American Civil War II Now Underway

We are at war, the Second American Civil War. It will not be a shooting war, but it will be decisive; there will be a single winner; it will be intellectually bloody; and the loser will continue the war as an asymmetrical guerrilla war thereafter.

This asymmetrical warfare may continue forever. The winner will hunt down the losers and eliminate them. The winner will bayonet the wounded. The losers will go deep underground.

I have been mulling this subject for more than a year, but I am driven to write about it in the shadow of impeachment, during the Democratic primary, and on the eve of the November election. I build my argument on this three legged stool.

The Impeachment Paroxysm

This is the first time I have used the word “paroxysm” in a longish time. I may never have used it in this blog before. It means a “sudden, violent outburst; a fit of violent action or emotion.”

It is a word apropos for the impending impeachment of President Donald J Trump tomorrow by the US House of Representatives. [I predict Speaker Pelosi wears pink & pearls. Anybody want to make a small wager?]

“Don’t screw with me, Big Red Car, you rust bucket. I can do things to you you cannot even begin to imagine.”

In case you have been traveling or tunneling toward the center of the earth, the House of Representatives’ Judiciary Committee, after painstaking scrutiny of the misdeeds of our President spread over a couple of days in which we met some actual law school professors, has proposed two Articles of Impeachment which the entire House of Representatives will ponder tomorrow and approve.

[I can tell you they will approve them, because that is part of my super powers — I can see the future.]

Only Democrats will vote to impeach the President. Some handful of Dems will vote against it, but it will be hopelessly partisan.

United Kingdom Election Implications

In a hotly contested, early-called election, the United Kingdom has given the Conservative Party of Boris Johnson a resounding victory providing him with a comfortable majority in their Parliament (House of Commons).

Prime Minister Johnson had taken a huge gamble calling for elections two years early as the country was bogged down in a vicious fight to follow the will of the people as demonstrated in the 2016 Brexit vote to part company with European Union. [The Brits were members of the European Union though they kept the British Pound Sterling as their currency, refusing to embrace the Euro.]

This election dissolves any idea of a Brexit do-over vote. It is now settled science that the UK is leaving the European Union.

The major opposition party, Labour, headed by Jeremy Corbyn, was handed a bruising defeat ending with 203 seats to the Conservative’s 364 (there are a total of 650 seats with 649 seats decided, one remaining to be finalized). It takes 326 seats in Parliament to govern.

Corbyn took things poorly, resigning in the wake of the keel hauling. A perfectly eloquent man, Corbyn said, “Ouch!”

The Scottish National Party took 48 seats (which will spark discussion of Scotland slipping away from the United Kingdom) and the Liberal Democrats took 11.

Impeachment — Decisive Engagement

Today, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi directed the House Judiciary Committee (Jerry Nadler, Chairman) to draft Articles of Impeachment saying, “The President has given us no choice.”

This decision came after a meeting of the Democrat caucus and a day of riveting testimony from a panel of four law professors. [For those of you whose sarcasm meters are in the shop for holiday repairs after Thanksgiving — this is sarcasm.]

This calls to mind two things of some portent:

If you come to kill the king, make sure to kill the king.

The importance and danger of a decisive engagement.
