Immigration in the Rear View Mirror

Big Red Car here. Ahh, finally the sun has returned and the rain has stopped. I am stretching in the 62F headed to 78F air temp. All is good.

On Earth as it is in Texas, y’all!

Now the dust has begun to settle on the President’s pronouncements on immigration. Some of the hysteria has begun to dissipate and folks can begin to ponder the reality of it all.

Like Lubbock, it looks a little different in the rear view mirror. Continue reading

The Republicans Did NOT Win the Election

Big Red Car here. Rained all night in the ATX but not as bad a night as it was for the Democrats who spent the night peeing on their own legs. Ouch!

The Republicans did not really win, the Democrats — especially President Obama — lost. The fury of the American voter was unleashed and, apparently, the American voter is very angry. This is why we have elections. Continue reading

Radicals, Extremists

Freeman is the author of the definitive works on Washington and Robert E Lee.

Misunderestimating the Tea Party

Big Red Car here.  Bit cool in the ATX and windy.  Today will be 70F and tomorrow, Old Sport, is going to be brutal.  Brutally cold with a low in the 20s.  Brrrrr.

So The Boss is meeting with a couple of his political cronies.  The Boss is running for election as the District Chair for his District.  As The Boss says:

“They couldn’t get anyone to volunteer, so they drafted me.” Continue reading

The Beclowning of American Foreign Policy

Big Red Car here.  The Boss is back home and the weather is a bit milder.  No connection.

Boss was in conversation with an old pal of his.   Both interested in politics and got to talking about the sorry state of American foreign policy in the aftermath of the Syrian debacle.
