So The Boss is reading about a discussion of “entrepreneurial panic” and had a few thoughts he shared with one of his brilliant CEO clients. I listened in and here is what they talked about.
Big Red Car here. Been a bit lazy lately what with The Boss out of town and the house sitter running me ragged. I love the house sitter because he works me like a rented mule and keeps company with some very attractive young ladies. He has an outstanding vision of how things ought to be with a lot of pool time and a lot of cruising with his babes.
Big Red Car here. Well, The Boss got skunked on the tarpon in Key Largo. [Kind of like to see The Boss get his butt knocked in the dirt from time to time. Good for him to learn a bit of humility, haha. Watch yourself, Big Red Car.]
Final score — The Boss 0, Tarpon 7.
Big Red Car here. The Boss was up early this morning and out for a swim. He likes to swim very early in the morning. I think the Old Boy is skinny dipping but who really knows?
Something I’ve been wanting to share with you is the story of the American B-24 Liberator one of the big bombers produced by the United States in response to the looming war. Second World War, ya’ll.

So The Boss is talking to one of his CEOs and the CEO says: “Hey, I’ve got a situation which calls for a bit of discipline. Any advice?”
Big Red Car here. So, we have been pontificating on what drives the success of a CEO.
We have focused on several specific traits and skills.

So we’ve been chatting about what makes a successful CEO, those critical character traits and skills that seem to be possessed by those rare beasties. Things that others can emulate and copy on their way to success. [Hey, “monkey see” “monkey do” is a legitimate personal growth strategy, haha, Big Red Car.]
One of those elements of success at the CEO level is the ability to organize things in an orderly manner and to harness the clarity of that organization to provide insights as to how to proceed — how to take the next step. In many ways, organization is the prelude to preparation. Preparation is prelude to action.
Organize, prepare, act — hmmm, sounds similar to crawl, walk, run. They are related, Old Sport. Oh, yes, they are.
