Are You Better Off Today Than You Were Four Years Ago?

Comes before us now the ultimate test question for the efficacy of an incumbent President.

Are you better off today than you were four years ago?

It is a fair question, though many incumbents do not want to troll such a definitive report card before the electorate.

Gallup, the polling pros, routinely ask this question of registered voters. The results?

July 1984 — 44% say they are better off — Ronald Reagan (re-elected)

October 1992 — 38% say they are better off — George HW Bush (defeated)

October 1994 — 47% say they are better off — Bill Clinton (re-elected)

December 2012 — 45% say they are better off — Barack Obama (re-elected)

September 2020 — 56% say they are better off — Donald Trump

Surprised?

Donald J Trump — President For Life

If you are a moron, you may be enmeshed in a discussion as to the likelihood that President Donald J Trump will seize the reins of power and become our President for Life — shorthand for becoming a dictator.

This is in keeping with both China and Russia, who have both recently anointed their leaders as Presidents for Life. It is a trend. Is this trend our friend?

There are people running about who seem to be normal — my mother used to whisper, “The only normal people are those you don’t know very well” — and even educated.

A few have doctorates. A doctorate does not inoculate you from being a moron. In fact, it may accelerate the condition.

These morons are running about with their hands in each other’s pockets whispering that there is a meaningful chance that President Trump will become President for Life, a dictator.

Some put the odds at 0-10%. [Note: Pretty much everything in the world has a 0-10% probability, including winning the lottery. So, this is no bold statement.]

Some of these particular morons link this to the election coming in 98 days with a scenario in which POTUS Trump does not “accept” the outcome of a loss at the hands of Democrat Candidate Joe Biden and refuses to leave the White House come January 2021..

Ballot Stuffing v WutangCurse Relief Package

OK, this post is really about the WutangCurse relief package intended to aid folks whose jobs have gone up in smoke, jobs about to be lost, small businesses suffering, and about to be pitchforked.

But first, dear reader, let’s take a little quiz. Is the following election practice legal in the United States?

 1. Can a “voter” register the same day as an election?

 2. Can that same voter immediately fill out a mail-in or absentee ballot?

 3. Can that same voter give the filled in ballot to another person for delivery to the polling point?

 4. Does that delivery person have any limitations as to how many ballots they can collect from voters?

 5. Does the delivery person have to have any authorization from the voter to deliver his/her ballot?

 6. Can that delivery person be paid for his/her service?

Real News

Guy calls me and says, “Can you believe that Mike Bloomberg spent a billion dollars on his election campaign?”

I say to him, “You’re full of crap. Bloomberg was on in the race for half of November, December 2019, January, February, until 4 March 2020. No way he spent that kind of money. That’s more than Trump plus all the other Democrat candidates for the entire primary and, maybe, the general election.”

Guy says, “Want to make a wager?” He has a certain kind of smile that makes me a little wary.

Joe Biden, Democrat Nominee

Joe Biden will be the Democrat nominee for President. Tonight, he won a convincing victory even in some states in which he had next to no presence.

On the other hand, the zaniness of the Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada, Disney World lineup came to an end with Bernie Sanders being judged, finally, to be too far to the left.

I say this with the complete support of the numbers, the numbers, the numbers — Joe Biden had a bigger victory than Hillary Clinton did against Bernie. Joe won by more than 10% greater margins. This is no tiptoe through the tulips; this was a cage match and Joe Biden won it all. Bernie is still at the Emergency Room having his ears re-attached.

Mike Bloomberg Is Out — Exclusive Interview

So, I get a call from the Bloomberg campaign saying that Mike wants to sit down and chat about the campaign as he is “reassessing” things post-Super Tuesday.

We visit in Austin, Texas (also known as Tejas) when he flies in on one of his Dassault Falcon 900s — he owns three of them.

“So, Mike, should we start with the planes? You own how many planes?”

President Trump’s Black Support

It is a shibboleth of liberal politics that the African American community is a monolith whose support is a bedrock element of the Democrat Party. Said another way, the Dems think they own the black vote in America. Some may criticize that the Dems take it for granted.

This is supported by the historic support of Dems by the black community — Candidate Trump received 8% of black support while Candidate Mittens received 6%.

Now, President Trump has put the black vote in America into play by going after it and asking for the order.

Already, there has been an ugly rumor of increased support for President Donald J Trump from the black community.

Many Dems have taken to ignoring these reports as unfounded, but there are three reputable reports from early December 2019 that show north of 30% black support for President Trump: Emerson College Polls, Marist Institute for Public Opinion, and Rassmussen Reports. This is NOT chopped liver.

Which brings me to the BIG QUESTION: Why would the black vote be swinging to President Trump?
