OK, y’all, I’m giving you fair warning. We’re getting close to Bluebonnet Season in the Texas Hill Country west of Austin By God Texas.
Last year and in 2015, I got a lot of push back for not warning folks of the impending bluebonnet blooming.
So, here it is, dear readers. Get ready to take a trip to the Willow City Loop.
Here are the following links:
If you miss this, this is on y’all. Nobody else. Get out your calendar and head out to the Willow City Loop (right next to Fredericksburg and that means wine country, German beer, pretzels).
But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car. Bluebonnet Season is almost here, y’all. Do this thing.
Beautiful!
.
It is one of the most beautiful and sacred things about the Hill Country. Almost as good as BBQ. Nah, not close. Haha.
But you can tour twenty miles of bluebonnets and then get some CUE.

Here in NYS, a little later in the year, we get some flowers that look much the same as your Bluebonnets except they are yellow. I have no idea what the heck they are. And maybe we also get some blue flowers that are Bluebonnets.
.
Would not surprise me because bluebonnets are very hardy. When they go to seed, you have to roll the seeds around in a concrete mixer with sharp edged sand to scratch their seed coats to allow them to germinate.
