Solar Energy Prescription — Aloe Vera

It is cloudy in the ATX and the Big Red Car does not like it.

Some years ago, before oil went to where it is, there was much pocket protector discussion about the efficacy of solar power — freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee energy, whee!

Lots of money got diverted from the real world to big projects. One of the biggest was in California.

It was a massive project in the Mojave Desert by Ivanpah (the company who built it) which was funded by a $1,600,000,000, that’s $1.6 BILLION dollars, loan guaranty from the Obama administration. Look at this baby, wow!

Small point — that’s YOUR money and YOUR government picking winners in the free market. Some find fault with such a thing.

Musings On Turning 65

Big Red Car here walking on egg shells because today The Boss is turning 65 and I’m not sure how the old boy is going to take it. [Probably a micro-aggression calling him the “old boy,” Big Red Car, you dumbass.]

So The Boss has made it to 65 and with his end of the gene pool is likely only at the halfway point of his life. Haha. [Big Red Car trying to make up for the “old boy” comment, no? You suck up, Big Red Car. Shameless.]

You Can’t Handle the Truth — Musings About YAHOO, MySpace, AOL

Big Red Car here on a cool, crisp impossibly sunny Wednesday morning in the winter that is Texas, y’all.

It is 40F which is pretty damn cold for a Texas winter. It will get to 60F before the sun scoots home this afternoon.

Of course, that snow where you live is so ……………………………………….. lovely, no?

Yahoo, the ship that Marissa Mayer is boxing the compass on, is adrift or, maybe, headed in every direction that the compass will spin. Who really knows?

Marissa — the Big Red Car is on a first name basis with many powerful CEOs (in his dreams) — arrived with Yahoo enmeshed in a world of deteriorating and suspect revenue to the tune of some $5B but she was the woman to firm it up. Get it over to the gym and finally get serious about Pilates.

She famously urged everyone to “lean in” and even wrote a book on the subject. [Ooops, Big Red Car, actually Lean In was written by a woman named Sheryl Sandberg. I know that all business women look alike to a misogynist Big Red Cars but you ought to get the big stuff right, Big Red. Dumbass!]

Big Red Car here in the ATX whereat it is 31F headed to 60F brrrr. Can’t get warm.

The Boss is in Wrightsville Beach whereat it is even colder and it’s not getting warmer there. Silly Boss!

But there is one warm spot to focus on today, FRIENDSHIP.

The Headaches of Catching Your Dream — GoPro

Big Red Car here n what is shaping up to be a great day here in the ATX.

Well, only if you think 70F and sunny is a good thing. Yes, sayeth the Big Red Car. Sunscreen?

Today, in the cross hairs is GoPro. Not because the Big Red Car has any angst toward the company but because it demonstrates some interesting stuff.

You know GoPro, the camera you strap to your helmet while skiing and get those great videos of flying through the trees and powder until the big collision with that aspen tree. Still, it looks great!

Being President v Being Right

Big Red Car here on the verge of the SOU (State of the Union) speech by the President. The guy gives a damn good speech, right?

Harry Truman is famously said to have uttered: “I’d rather be President than be right.”

Haha, dear readers, Harry actually said, “I’d rather be right than President.”

Sorry, that was the Big Red Car spoofing y’all. Won’t happen again.

President Truman also said, “You have to know the facts.”
