Writing Good or Well?

Big Red Car here.  Going to be 73F with a few thunderstorms around the ATX.  Ahhh.

So I heard The Boss talking to one of his brilliant CEOs about the quality of the average business memo.

The Boss was not very favorably disposed to such writings.  They are not very good.  Why?

1.  Brillilant CEOs are part of the current generation of folks who are used to writing in a cryptic email/Twitter shorthand.

2.  Most CEOs do not have much education in basic writing because they often come from an engineering background.

3.  CEOs do not get enough constructive criticism on their writing.

Where can a CEO go for help, Big Red Car?

The simple answer is The Little Red Writing Book by Brandon Royal.

You can find that little jewel right here:  The Little Red Writing Book.

Hell, you can buy one for as little as $1.75 used plus shipping of $3.99.  [Big Red Car is not pimping for the book but, Hell, that’s not very much.  It’s just about a half car/decaf latte with soy milk and a spritz of mint, no?]

The principles in this book are simple and if you keep it handy — you will become a much better writer.  Easily.

But, hey, what the Hell do really know anyway?  I’m just a Big Red Car.
