The rudderless Democrat Party — rudderless because their enshrined leaders Biden, Harris, Schumer, Jeffries (Pelosi) are all lame ducks — is now engaging in the mandatory post election recriminations and blame game trying to ascertain how they lost an election in such a decisive and comprehensive manner at the hands of the Orange Man.
The Dems surrendered the White House, the Senate, and the House; that, dear reader, is a West Texas barbed wire enema even in Nancy Pelosi’s book.
Before the Dems can even begin to refashion their party, they have to figure out how 14,000,000 Dem voters (who cast their votes for Joe Biden in 2020) disappeared and why?
What are the numbers, Big Red Car?
Let’s use the big boy numbers, shall we?
Joe Biden garnered 81MM votes in 2020. <<< cough, cough — maybe he did and maybe he didn’t
Kamala Harris received 67MM votes in 2024.
That is almost a 20% gap of 14,000,000 disappearing Dem votes. WTF happened?
To make it worse, Donald J Trump won the bloody popular vote by 5,000,000 votes making him the first Republican candidate in 20 years to make that happen. This is huuuuuuge and people are overlooking it.
[To make it a bit worse, the pundits, pollsters, and media illuminati had Harris winning handily. The final polls had Harris winning and it wasn’t even close. The Shy Trump Voter phenomenon — a + 5% underpolling gap — is and was true. Ouch.]
Bottom line it, Big Red Car, getting ready for Game Day
OK, fine, dear reader.
1. With Kamala Harris atop the ticket, the Dems lost the White House, the Senate, and the House. That is one Hell of a beat down.
Pointedly, she did worse than Joe Biden in every single former Obama Coalition demographic including women. She failed to outperform Biden in any state or county. That, dear reader, is hard to imagine.
2. Donald J Trump won the popular vote by 5,000,000 votes.
3. Kamala Harris received 14,000,000 +/- fewer votes in 2024 than Joe Biden did in 2020.
Before the Dems can plot their future — a future that starts with them powerless, wailing, and gnashing their teeth in darkness — they have to figure out where those 14,000,000 voters went and why. Good luck with that.
But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car.
This election was the greatest political comeback of any spurned politician in US history and the most comprehensive repudiation of the ruling party in the last century. This was history and you lived it.
