The Musings of the Big Red Car

Good v Evil — Focus on the Good

Big Red Car here on a lazy Sunday morning. Up too late last night with the house sitter. Do not tell The Boss or my new paint job may be at risk.

The Boss says that what we think about, we talk about. You know where this is going, right?

What we talk about, we act upon. What we act upon defines our character and our lives are driven by our character.

Whew!

Last night in Steamboat Springs The Boss enjoyed a night of Christmas carols at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. St Paul did not take a vow of poverty and tickets were twenty dollars each. It was worth it.

Let’s focus on the good in the world. This evening was one of the nicest interludes of Christmas joy in decades. Fabulous!

It was fabulous not just in the purity of the songs but in the faces of the people — dressed in their tuxedos and gowns. In the songs themselves. In the celebration of the season and the birth of Jesus Christ. In what it means to hopeful Christians to the optimism of their faith.

We need to be vigilant. We need to watch the evil in the world.

We need to celebrate goodness and not give in to the evil. This Christmas, sing a Christmas carol. Do a good deed. Be kind to yourself. Let the good within — for a few days — overwhelm the evil. Let good triumph over evil in your mind.

Then, talk about it. Let those words drive your actions. Let those actions define your character and let the goodness of your character be your life.

Merry Christmas!

But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a big Red Car. Tonight, we drive around with the top down and Christmas carols on the radio. Do you know that I have a great sound system? And, you — be good to yourself.
