The Musings of the Big Red Car

When Mottoes Compete

Big Red Car here while The Boss is skiing again. I wonder if he is following the election? What do you think?

So the Big Red Car is wondering something — what were the mottoes of the last few presidential candidates?

The Big Red Car remembers “Hope & Change” — meant nothing but worked like a champ putting Barack Obama in the White House while the entire world wondered: “WTF does that mean?”

Doesn’t matter. He won. The motto won and is enshrined in history forever.

The Big Red Car recalls “Make America Great Again” but the big question is this: what are the other competing mottoes out there?

What were the mottoes of Presidents McCain and President Romney?

How about candidates Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Dr Ben Carson, Lindsay Graham, Bobby Jindal, Jim Gilmore, George Pataki, Carly Fiorina, Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee, Rand Paul, Scott Walker, Rick Perry?

What were their inspiring mottoes?

There is one candidate who had a good motto but he never created any traction — Jimmy McMillian. Who you say is Jimmy McMillan?

“The Rent Is Too Damn High”

The best motto won the last two elections, no? Hmmmm.

The benefit of a broad and deep primary test is that a tough and seasoned candidate emerges. And, a damn good motto, no?

But, hey, what do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car. Be kind to yourself. You’ve earned it.
