When trying to understand someone’s behaviour, if you are in doubt if it’s stupidity or malice, it’s almost always stupidity (dumbness is much simpler than evil plots). Sometimes it doesn’t work because there’s bad people out there, but I prefer to trust and be deceived than not trusting and being alone.
