TD Act I has ended with a standing ovation.

Now we are looking for Act II where we'll see, say, his tax plan (supposedly in draft), maybe more of the legal details surrounding the 14th Amendment, see some interviews less easy to imitate or parody, meet his wife, see some more issues, maybe some from current events, see some more strategy on primary vote counts, see how he pushes back against Bush, etc., see what happens to Hillary and/or Biden, see how TD builds and runs his ground game, see how he paces himself to and through the primaries, see what else TD does in the debate on the Iran deal, see if the MSM can cook up some TD scandals, etc.

More fun to watch than baseball, and more important.

.
Brilliant analysis, as usual.

The short longevity -- can that be correct -- of his popularity and the degree of it, particularly when compared to Jeb Bush's status, is telling.

So many of his critics are looking for the sell by date, the shelf life, the lobotomy scars and finding none have given him real credibility.

TheDonald is a driven person and like many driven persons his reward is in part the ego enrichment and self-esteem nourishment that comes from getting stuff done that others struggle with.

Building tall buildings is incredibly complex. He is a master at it.

Politics is broken. The outcomes from professional politicians of both parties is completely unsatisfactory. The Congress polls worse than a barbed wire enema.

Your analysis of his Southern strategy is perfect. TheDonald let the South take him for a test drive in Mobile by the bay.

I am amazed at his longevity but it is real. Unless Jeb Bush catches fire -- no chance -- the traditional Republican establishment is not going to be picking the nominee.

Since Trump can self-fund, they have virtually no leverage over him.

That's a total riot!

Yes, as BRC captured, TD has a certain style, one that usually would be regarded as impossibly crude, inappropriate, and offensive. But somehow that style has worked wonders for TD's poll numbers.

I agree with TD that we need some better leadership in the Oval Office, to start, even just some actual, at least positive, effective leadership. E.g., on negotiating, we need a POTUS who at least knows which side of the table he's supposed to sit on. If between now and 2017 we need a real POTUS, then we could be in real trouble.

TD looks both sincere and determined. He's convincing me that he really wants to help the country.

The TD style is a negative with me personally, but it's not nearly the worst problem I can see in the leadership of the US -- e.g., doesn't compare with what W did in Iraq or how O let ISIS have, what was it, 2000 Humvees. I can put up with the style. Besides, so far the style seems to be part of getting some astounding poll numbers. It would have been really easy for TD to still be back in the single digits. That, instead, he's way out in front is a biggie. He really pulled that off, nothing but net, from the back court.

Also the style has TD put his reputation, self-esteem, etc. very much on the line so that he will receive one heck of a lot of ridicule if he gets elected but doesn't deliver. That is, with his style, he looks like a total fool if he doesn't deliver. Or, maybe he likes looking like a total fool when he knows he can deliver: Then before hand, just due to the style, people call him a fool; he delivers; then the critics look like the fools; and his victory is even larger, but all of which requires that he, what's the word, deliver.

That is, it's easy to guess that in his run for POTUS he wants some things, in particular, praise and respect from delivering on his promises and goals, and wants those things really badly. So, he looks like he very much wants the job, is highly motivated to do well at it, and has an impressive track record at getting some significant things done -- that combination is supposed to be a positive situation for hiring someone.

So, I'm looking for something about TD that means that he can't provide the leadership we need, and so far I'm not seeing anything serious. In particular, I'm not ready to conclude that his style is some out of control result of some serious problems between his ears.

He's an extreme guy, not an ordinary man, but an ordinary man is not what we need.

Then I'm looking for a better alternative, and I'm not seeing that either.

He's not an idiot, and it appears that he is able to adjust his act depending on the circumstances.

The US voters like to vet a candidate over an interval of time, and it's still several months until the first primaries. So, one objective a candidate has in August is just to let the public get to know them, and my take on TD's style yesterday in Alabama, just slowly walking to the stage, alone, no tie, like just an ordinary guy, was an attempt to let people just get to know him, i.e., see his heart on is sleeve. Similarly for giving the rides to the kids in Iowa. Maybe he's fooling a lot of people including me, but maybe not.

He did NOT call me a clown. However, he did call Paul Rand a clown -- a little one at that. I didn't report that fact since I felt it was a bit of an ad hominem attack and the BRC does not condone ad hominem attacks.

Much goodwill to all in NH.
