The Musings of the Big Red Car

Radicals, Extremists

Tonight is the night, ya’ll.  The President is going to let us know the “state” of the Union.  Oh, boy.

I’m so excited that it is palpable. Hell, it’s cold here in the ATX — 30F right now and a bit drippy.  Roads are a bit icy.  Ugh.  But it’s going to be 70F on Thursday.

I can’t decide which I am more excited about — the State of the Union or the changing weather.  Oh boy! So tonight, the President is going again indulge us with the brilliance of his plans for the future.  They will have to be plans for the future as the present is looking a bit desperate.

The President will undoubtedly blame the lack of current progress on his Republican — radical, extremist Republican — opponents.

So, it might be worthwhile to examine what qualifies one to be a radical, extremist these days.

If you think that runaway entitlements should be curtailed, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that increasing the National Debt forever — the foundation financial concept of the President’s financial plans — is a bad idea, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that we have a spending problem and not a revenue problem, you might be a radical extremist.  [Interesting to note that current revenue projections are the highest in the history of our Nation.  Ever.  We don’t have a revenue problem, folks.]

If you think that balancing the Federal budget — just like every State in the Union is required by law to do — is a necessary change, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that giving a crack head spending addict more credit is not the answer to our spending problem, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that an all time low in the labor force participation rate since the 1970’s is a real problem, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think runaway unemployment, welfare rolls, disability rolls, food stamp rolls are not good things and should be addressed, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that having the world’s highest corporate tax rates is not the best recipe to create jobs, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that lying to the American people about OBAMAcare and Benghazi is no way to govern our nation, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think that governments should not harness the police powers of the IRS for their own political ends, you might be a radical extremist.

If you are troubled when nobody — NOBODY — is held accountable or fired for the Fast & Furious, IRS, Benghazi, OBAMAcare scandals, you might be an extremist.

If you think that you should get a working website for $800,000,000, you might be a radical extremist.

If you think the implementation of a piece of legislation with your name on it that you had 3 1/2 years to perfect is a testament to your basic competence, you might be a radical extremist.

And the list goes on and on. Listen carefully tonight, you radical extremists cause the President is talking to and about you.

But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway?  I’m just a Big Red Car.  Stay warm.
