Mom

Big Red Car here.  Happy Mother’s Day to all you lovely women who have brought all The Boss’s friends into this world.  I know it was not easy.

The Boss had a great Mom and Dad.  He was very lucky.  Very lucky.

The Boss’s Mom was a woman of great strength.  One of a full squad of Irish Catholic girls who knew how to struggle, how to live and how to love each other and their families.  They were the women whose men went off to war.

The Boss’s Mom herself did her part and joined the Army in World War II.  That’s where she met The Old Man — 95 years old on 2 June — and their magic brought forth The Boss.  Lucky for The Boss, eh?  [Haha, Big Red Car, you are a hoot.  Hey, lucky for the Big Red Car.]

Rita was a perfect Mom and The Boss misses her terribly.

Be good to your Mom’s today.  Be good to their memory if they are gone.  You are lucky.

But, hey, what the Hell do I know anyway?  I’m just a Big Red Car.

  1. She was beautiful and is looking down on you from heaven.

I have a cousin named Rita. And Saint Rita is my mom’s favorite Saint. She would have us visit Saint Rita’s church with her regularly, and one day back in the 80’s she took us to visit the Basilica of Santa Rita da Cascia in the Umbrian hills of Italy.

Yes, she was a beauty. I have a picture of my Dad and her at their wedding at the end of WWII and it is a show stopper.

      Thanks.
