The Musings of the Big Red Car

Merry Christmas 2018

Something feels different this year. It feels better, more exciting. The year of 2019 is going to be huge.

First, there is this little imp. Baby Tempe has changed everything. You thought you knew who you were and what you were all about and then she arrived and changed things.

Now, you’re a fool called “Gwant”, married for 39 years to a refined Southern lady called “Mimi” who goes to Savannah to babysit on the strength of a phone call.

Then, your family arrives in Austin By God Texas to celebrate Christmas (almost no furniture because everything is being renovated) for what may be the last time because you’re going to move to Savannah to be close to — you guessed it, Baby Tempe.

Tempe (Faith, Hope, Charity, Temperance — a Southern thing, the virtues) is a family name. Baby T’s grandmother and her great grandmother are all Tempes. There are several cousin Tempes also. But there is only one Baby Tempe from Savannah, Georgia. And, she is a powerful young lady already with a feisty personality.

“Hey, you, Merry Christmas!”

Merry Christmas, y’all!

Peace on Earth from the Big Red Car to your family.
