Greensleeves and the Spirit of Christmas

Big Red Car here.

Ahh, the sound of my favorite Christmas song.

A nice can of 10W40 and a roaring fire.  The Yule Log dancing with orange flames.

Let the sweet sounds soothe you.

So it’s getting to be the holiday season and for some reason I still don’t have that holiday feeling.

Something is just still missing.  Believe me it is NOT cold weather and snow but it is something.

So, to put myself into the Christmas spirit, I listened to some Christmas carols.  My favorite of all time is Greensleeves.

Listen to the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards band.  It is just lovely.  But there are many other renditions of this great tune.

Olivia Newton John

Here is Olivia Newton John sweetly singing her version of that great melody Greensleeves.

Frank Sinatra

In addition to being called Greensleeves, it is also known as “The Bells of Christmas”.

Here is Frank Sinatra taking a crack at this old chestnut.

Marianne Faithful

Marianne Faithfull – Greensleeves

This is last rendition of Greensleeves for this post, I promise you.

Now, aren’t you getting into the holiday spirit?

But what the Hell do I know, I’m just a Big Red Car.

Be kind to yourself and Happy Holidays!  Merry Christmas from the Big Red Car and The Boss!

Too old for an 8 track, my friend. I do have a modern CD player loaded with Motown and Beach Music, the shag music of the Great Strand in Myrtle Beach.
