Big Red Car here. Been raining cats and dogs here in the ATX.
The Boss was mumbling about planting some hibiscus and mandevilla vines along his big stone walls by the driveway — where your Big Red Car often bivouacs on a rainy night. [Hey, I like the idea of sharing my bunk with some cute red flowers. Get it, Big RED Car and big RED flowers? Haha, Big Red Car, you crack yourself up.]
But, alas, it has been too rainy for The Boss to do any planting, so he’s been watching the NBA tournament.
Big Red Car here. Rainy and gloomy and an altogether typical late May day. The ATX gets a lot of its rain during the end of May and then we settle in for the long, hot, dry journey through June to August and finally to September and the start of Longhorn football. Go Horns!
On the eave of Memorial Day, when America celebrates the sacrifice of its war dead who have given the last measure of devotion so that we may live in liberty with freedom, we think about those who have served in the military and who fought America’s wars.
Big Red Car here. Hey, it’s cold and gray and a bit wet here in the ATX. But, guess what? We still love it. We love it in the ATX when Mother Nature comes calling and gives us a bit of a respite from those monotonous clear sunny and wonderful days. Plus now everybody gets to wear their sweaters. And, that’s a good thing, no?
So The Boss was up early and was reading some stuff and he came upon this article about the Army and a new concern that Christians might be doing some proselytizing.

The Boss and one of his old Army friends were chewing the fat the other day and got to talking about all the interesting stuff they did all those years ago when they were young and dangerous men. Back when the Big Red Car was just a pup himself.
Big Red Car here. So The Boss is talking to one of his Marine classmates and he mentions that Marine General — four stars — James “Mad Dog” Mattis was retiring having been forced out of by the Obama administration for not being a charm school graduate. Speaking truth to power and not mincing words.
So what kind of words does such a General speak?
