God Bless You, Rufie — We Will Miss You

Big Red Car here.  A very sad, sad, sad day in the ATX.  Rufus the Shih Tzu drowned today.  Rufie is dead and buried.  Oh, what a sad day indeed.

The Boss discovered him floating in the pool and tried to revive him but Rufus was gone.

The Boss dug a grave and buried Rufie under the Perfect Daughter’s and Son’s windows so he can safeguard the house for the rest of time.  It was sad duty indeed.

The Deal is Done When the Check Clears

Big Red Car here.  Going to be a warm, sunny day with some isolated thunderstorms here in the ATX.  Well, Old Sport, it’s summer in Texas and that forecast could probably be bandied about until say — the first Longhorn football game?

So The Boss has been visiting with some of his young and not so young CEO clients and has been mumbling about when is a deal a deal.  A deal is not done until the check clears.

An indictment of competence, character or native intelligence?

Big Red Car here.  The Boss and I are up early headed to coffee.  I must admit that a 6:00 AM coffee is just a bit too much for this Big Red Car but, hey, I can use the work.

The Boss is all exercised about yesterday’s Benghazi hearings.  He was ranting about them yesterday evening at a lovely little neighborhood gathering across the street.  I could hear it all from the driveway.  The Boss seems to have a point.  Maybe.

Trust, Red Lines and Enormous Consequences

Big Red Car here.  Bright, sunny, wonderful Sunday morning here in the ATX.  Have to type fast because The Boss is at church and that is one of my prime times to use the computer.  He leaves it on for me.  I think.

So, I was watching the Sunday morning talk shows and gave a bit of thought to the issue of TRUST — how do you build it and how do you use it and how do you lose it?
