The Global Bullshit Theory and Meter

Big Red Car here.  The Boss is enjoying the cool weather in Santa Fe and me and the house sitter are enjoying the ATX.  Sure it’s a bit warm but the house sitter — and about ten of his friends — are enjoying the pool and the Big Red Car.

Last night we went down to Sixth Street west of Congress and we had a blast.  [Please do not tell The Boss because well, the house sitter was a bit wild last night.  I am not supposed to be driving around when folks are drinking.  And, Old Sport, folks were drinking.  And drinking.  And drinking.  But, hey, I get the young folk — they just want to have fun.]

So, The Boss was laughing the other day about his Global Bullshit Theory and the attendant Global Bullshit Meter.  It works like this.

The character traits and skills of the successful CEO — LEARNING FROM FAILURE

Big Red Car here.  Been a nice run of warm, sunny and delightful convertible weather.  OK, when the mercury flirts with 100F only mad dogs and Englishmen are out and about in that deadly sun but those cool mornings and those sultry evenings.  Ahh, on Earth as it is in Texas.

So The Boss is thinking about what makes a CEO successful and I, the Big Red Car, have been eavesdropping on him just a bit.  [Shhh, don’t tell The Boss what I have been doing.  Haha, the devilish and scheming Big Red Car.]  So let’s talk about learning from failure.

The character traits and skills of the successful CEO — DISCIPLINE

Big Red Car here.  Early Sunday morning.  Going to be a nice day here in the ATX.

We are starting a new series here at The Musings of the Big Red Car.  We are calling it “The Character Traits and Skills of the Successful CEO” and today we are starting with “discipline”.

The Boss was visiting with one of his CEO clients and they had a lively discussion of the importance of personal traits and skills of the CEO as compared to the values of the company itself.  It was a very good discussion.  I overhead the whole damn thing and these guys were really having a ball.

So, I thought I would share it with you, Old Sport.  Because all I want to do as a Big Red Car is help you get better in the CEO-ing business or to get ready to become a CEO.

Company Culture — in Pursuit of Excellence or Workplace Health?

Big Red Car here.  Going to be a bang up day in the ATX.  Lovely bright sunshine everywhere, bit of a breeze and a nice balmy warm 96F.  Great convertible weather, no?  Take that hint, Boss, and let’s get some miles on the old Big Red Car today.

So, we are musing about the subject of Company Culture again, ya’ll.
